From AI Hype to AI How

Why We Exist

Artificial intelligence is no longer just a buzzword—it’s the backbone of tomorrow’s industries, economies, and societies. At YongLin Foundation, we believe Taiwan must not only understand AI but lead in shaping it. That begins with education. We are here to turn aspiration into application—to ensure that AI knowledge isn’t limited to headlines, but embedded in classrooms, curricula, and careers.

Strategy

How We Lead

We take a ground-up approach to building AI fluency in Taiwan—developing high-quality learning materials, empowering educators, supporting interdisciplinary research, and creating international exchange platforms. Our goal is simple but bold: to give Taiwan’s next generation the tools to lead in an AI-powered world.

• Publishing Innovative AI Textbooks
We create and distribute foundational AI materials for high schools and universities, filling a major gap in accessible, locally relevant AI education.

• Launching Higher Ed AI Courses
We’re collaborating with leading institutions to design interdisciplinary AI programs that prepare students to solve both technical and ethical challenges.

• Building a Global AI Platform
We promote Taiwan’s role as an AI hub by hosting international forums and encouraging cross-border collaboration—amplifying Taiwan’s voice in shaping global tech policy.

Areas of focus

YongLin AI Textbook Publishing Project

In 2019, in partnership with the Foxconn Education Foundation, we published Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and donated 35,000 copies to 100 high schools. In 2024, we expanded this effort with The Development and Application of AI—Taiwan’s first AI textbook for university students and professionals. These resources provide a vital starting point for learners entering the AI field with confidence and context.

Higher Educational AI Course Program

Beginning in 2025, YongLin Foundation will partner with the International Artificial Intelligence and Law Research Foundation to launch interdisciplinary AI courses across Taiwanese campuses. The curriculum will bridge technical training with legal and ethical considerations, while encouraging schools to make their content available through open online platforms—broadening access nationwide.

AI International Platform Exchange

YongLin Foundation founder Terry Gou envisions Taiwan not just as a participant in the global AI conversation—but as a leader. Through international forums, academic exchanges, and public-private collaboration, we aim to boost Taiwan’s role in using AI for good—in education, healthcare, and beyond.
