        Areas of focus

        National Taiwan University Cancer Center

After 10 years of refinement, the Cancer Center Branch of the College of Medicine of National Taiwan University Hospital, was completed at the end of 2018. This hospital was built through the deep love for Taiwan of the founder of YongLin Foundation, Mr. Terry Gou, who transformed his endless grief for his loved ones into a great act of compassion for Taiwan. He entrusts this love to NTU for the construction of a cancer-specialized hospital, which is also the first public hospital in Taiwan built with private donations.

National Taiwan University Cancer Center for Radiation Science and Proton Therapy (YongLin Building)

We are committed to providing cancer patients with more precise, personalized radiotherapy in NTUCC. In 2022, photon therapy—a common and effective form of radiation treatment—became available. In the near future, we plan to offer proton therapy, an advanced radiation treatment that targets tumors more precisely while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

NTUCC: A Vision for the Future of Medicine

The National Taiwan University Cancer Center (NTUCC), completed after a decade of effort, represents the first major step in the "New Century Medical Initiative." Founder Terry Gou sees NTUCC as more than just a hospital; he envisions it as a foundation for developing Taiwan's medical industry and a catalyst for advancing preventive medicine to improve health outcomes for future generations.

Advancing Global Health and Cancer Research

YongLin Foundation is actively supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3.d, which focuses on helping countries prepare for and manage health risks through better early warning and prevention systems. Partnering with National Taiwan University (NTU), we’ve created the first Breast Cancer Gene Database for the Chinese population. This innovative resource is advancing research into the genetic causes of cancer and supporting the development of personalized precision medicine. By driving these efforts, we’re helping patients access better, more targeted treatments and expanding care to reach even more people in need.

        Tai-Cheng Cell Therapy Center

This project marks the first major initiative funded by YongLin Foundation’s NT$20 billion donation to National Taiwan University (NTU) and stands as Taiwan's largest and most advanced cell transplantation center. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, a cutting-edge treatment offered here, has become a vital tool in fighting cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, as well as severe blood disorders. This facility represents a significant step forward in providing life-saving care for patients in need.
