Innovation Fueled by Compassion, Designed to Outpace Cancer

Why We Exist

At YongLin Foundation, we believe that no one should face cancer without access to the world’s best care—and that compassion should move as fast as science. Our commitment is simple yet bold: to transform the way cancer is understood, treated, and ultimately defeated. We’re not just treating illness—we’re building hope, one breakthrough at a time.

Strategy

        How We Lead

We are reshaping cancer care in Taiwan and beyond through a multi-pronged strategy that combines generosity, precision, and vision:

        • Transforming Cancer Care with NTUCC
We helped establish the National Taiwan University Cancer Center (NTUCC)—a landmark institution built to deliver cutting-edge treatment, advanced diagnostics, and world-class research under one roof.

        • Advancing Precision Medicine
We champion genetic-based treatments tailored to each patient’s unique biology. This shift from one-size-fits-all medicine to data-driven care marks a new era in cancer therapy.

        • Bringing in Breakthrough Technology
From photon to proton therapy, we are accelerating the adoption of the most advanced tools available—offering new options and new hope to patients previously out of reach.

        • Putting Patients First
Innovation means nothing without humanity. We are building systems that prioritize dignity, comfort, and healing—because treating cancer requires more than just medicine.

        Areas of focus

National Taiwan University Cancer Center (NTUCC)

Completed in 2018 after a decade of meticulous planning, NTUCC is Taiwan’s first public cancer hospital built through private philanthropy. It stands as a living legacy of YongLin Foundation founder Terry Gou, who transformed personal grief into a national gift of hope. NTUCC is more than a hospital—it is a beacon of what compassionate innovation can achieve.

YongLin Building: Radiation Science and Proton Therapy

Radiotherapy reaches new heights in the YongLin Building, where we launched photon therapy in 2022 and are preparing to introduce precision-guided proton therapy. These treatments offer unparalleled accuracy, preserving healthy tissue while aggressively targeting tumors—a game changer for patients in Taiwan and across the region.

NTUCC and the “New Century Medical Initiative”

NTUCC is the foundation of a far-reaching vision: to make Taiwan a global leader in biomedical innovation. This future-forward initiative is designed not only to cure disease but to prevent it—putting Taiwan on the map as Asia’s model for next-generation healthcare.

        Breast Cancer Gene Database

In collaboration with National Taiwan University, we created the first breast cancer gene database tailored specifically for Chinese populations. This powerful resource enables researchers to decode the genetic origins of cancer and develop personalized treatments faster and more effectively than ever before.

        Tai-Chen Cell Therapy Center

Backed by our historic NT$20 billion donation to NTU, the Tai-Chen Cell Therapy Center is Taiwan’s largest and most advanced facility of its kind. It delivers life-saving hematopoietic stem cell transplants for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other severe blood disorders—ushering in a new chapter of regenerative medicine and individualized care.
