Female Empowerment
In response to Taiwan's pressing social issues, such as low birth rates and labor shortages, the Yongling Foundation launched the "Yongling Mom Dream Builders" initiative in 2024. This program invites creative proposals that encourage mothers to pursue diverse employment opportunities, especially through community-based micro-economies and supportive workplace environments for pregnant women. The project also emphasizes developing a sustainable labor force through various innovative employment solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by women, particularly mothers.
The initiative seeks to inspire proposals that focus on:
Neighborhood Community Micro-Economies: Encouraging local production, consumption, and employment within the community. This model aligns with recent trends in the EU and Japan, which emphasize community-based economic development.
Supportive Maternity-Friendly Workplaces: Proposals aimed at fostering workplace environments that balance family and work obligations, encouraging pregnant women to continue their careers and integrate work and family life more seamlessly.
The event is designed to tap into the "mom power" by recognizing the diverse roles mothers play and leveraging their unique strengths such as time management, stress resilience, and teamwork. This initiative also acknowledges the growing trend of "side hustles" and freelancing, offering flexible working arrangements that suit mothers' schedules.
Through this program, the Yongling Foundation hopes to promote innovative employment models and encourage local and sustainable development, ultimately helping to create a supportive ecosystem where mothers can balance their work and family responsibilities while contributing to economic development.
Over the years, Yonglin has visited various corners of Taiwan, witnessing many local and rural groups that actively integrate local resources. These organizations have been committed to long-term, grassroots public welfare services
