Female Empowerment
Yonglin Foundation continues to care for the disadvantaged and promote social welfare, helping those "in adversity" turn the impossible into possible. The foundation has long supported government-registered social welfare institutions and organizations, visiting various corners of Taiwan over the years to witness many local and rural groups. These groups actively integrate local resources and connect community energy, deeply cultivating public welfare services with limited manpower and resources. To further support these efforts, Yonglin launched the Yonglin Social Welfare Support Station program in 2024. This initiative aims to encourage local organizations to focus on service and direct resource infusion by establishing a subsidy program to support "micro, small, and local social welfare units," effectively enhancing service capacity and developing innovative features.
Guo Xiaoling, Executive Director of the Yonglin Foundation, explained, "In our recent visits to local and rural organizations, we saw that many small-scale social welfare units lack resources, preventing them from implementing their plans. This year, we introduced the Yonglin Social Welfare Support Station program to help smaller welfare organizations that are relatively disadvantaged in society. These smaller organizations often focus on local services, dedicating a lot of time and effort to case management and problem-solving, but they lack fundraising channels and face financial constraints. We hope this program can help ease their burdens, improve service effectiveness, and encourage qualified organizations to apply through our official website. Additionally, the program encourages organizations to propose innovative service designs or international collaboration, allowing social welfare efforts to scale and making Taiwan's public welfare innovations visible to the world."
Small Teams, Big Hearts: Taiwan's Micro and Small Social Welfare Units Making the Most of Limited Resources
Earlier this year, the Yongling Foundation donated to the Taiwan Love Hope Children’s Care and Development Association. With just four staff members, the association partners with nearly 90 after-school care programs in rural areas, serving over 2,000 underprivileged children. Their efforts extend to remote communities and mountain villages. The core mission of the association is to maintain mutual trust and empower local communities. With limited manpower, they rely on local churches or after-school tutors to raise funds and resources, and even assist local groups in establishing their own self-sustaining institutions.
Using Technology to Achieve Social Innovation and Expand Social Welfare Globally
The Yonglin Foundation sponsored the Taiwan Life-Challenger Association's "High-Tech Hand-Cycle" team to embark on an extreme accessible hand-cycle journey in California, USA, this March. The organization uses technology to help individuals with disabilities challenge extreme physical limits. This journey was not only a test of personal courage but also showcased their determination and perseverance to the world, inspiring others to face life’s challenges boldly. The Life-Challenger Association has also deployed 10 high-tech hand-cycles with its US partners, allowing hand-cycle enthusiasts worldwide to experience accessible cycling through technology, spreading love and extending dreams.
Social Welfare Innovations: Transforming Transportation into a Valuable Resource for Work
Last year, Yonglin donated a modified vehicle to the Pingtung County Heart Tree Charity Association. After the vehicle was modified, it was officially launched this year to improve the organization's efficiency in rural areas. The creative idea stemmed from the Heart Tree's limited manpower in serving rural areas, where only one staff member handled transportation and material distribution. With a single service point, they couldn’t visit multiple units, and the physical strain on workers was overwhelming. After the modification, the vehicle’s wings expand fully, making it easier for beneficiaries to pick up resources quickly and efficiently. This modification allows the social workers to better care for their clients while ensuring they have enough energy to safely return after a busy day.
The event created a shared space for both children and individuals with disabilities to play and learn together, providing an inclusive and joyful environment for everyone.
"Yonglin Women Power" program started in 2023, with the theme "I am a mom, but I also have dreams". The program focuses on three key areas: Healthcare, Empowerment, and Redefinition.
